for emergencies and urgent problems outside of Leek Health Centre opening times.
Please telephone the number above before you attend the out-of-hours centre;
you may be called back by a triage nurse.
Minor
Injuries/Ailments
Minor injuries/minor ailments can be seen and treated at Leek Moorlands Hospital, Haywood Hospital and Cheadle Hospital. All local pharmacies will also be able to give advice on minor illnesses and suggest appropriate over the counter treatment.
Saturday/Sunday
North Staffs Urgent Care runs satellite surgeries staffed by local doctors at
the Leek Moorlands Hospital at various times over the weekend. If you telephone 01538
399511 with an urgent problem you may be directed to one of these surgeries
rather than being asked to attend the centre at Basford. Please do not attend
unless directed to do so.

As a walk-in patient you will be able to consult with a doctor or nurse practitioner. They will help in giving you advice with stopping smoking, dealing with vaccinations, health screenings and sexual health/Contraception.
They also provide health promtion clinics run by their practice nursing team, by appointment. The nurse-led services include, blood testing, asthma, diabetes, cardiac: stroke/chronic heart disease, flu vaccinations, wound care, smoking cessation, cervical screening, lifestyle advice and ear syringing.

The Hanley Health and Wellbeing Centre is primarily a GP practice. However, you do not have to be registered with the Centre in order to receive treatment from them. They provide services to 'walk-in' patients who may be registered with other GP practices as well as to those who are not registered with any GP.
The Centre is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year including Bank Holidays. Their opening hours are 8.00am - 8.00pm and you can simply walk in to see a GP or nurse without an appointment.

Facilities
The Health Centre has disabled access to the front (via automatic doors) and
rear of the building. All access is suitable for wheelchairs.
The health centre provides disabled toilet access. We also have an induction
loop hearing system for the hard of hearing and a textphone on 01538 399511.
